At Maitre and Crabtree Dental Group we understand how vitally important it is for you to keep your natural teeth healthy and to save them for as long as possible. No matter what condition your teeth are in, right now is the best time to begin taking care of them.
We make dental care easier on you by providing a comprehensive dental exam for each member of your family. You’ll find our dentists and our staff to be friendly, competent professionals who truly care about their patients. Even if you have been afraid for years to visit the dentist, come and see us. We’ll give you a very thorough examination, listen to your concerns and help you to take care of and preserve your teeth, one step at a time.
We will ask if there is anything special that you want to bring to our attention or that you especially want handled. We want to learn more about you so we can better serve you. We’ll explain our examination procedures, answer your questions and do whatever we can to put you at ease during your exam and consult.
We like to establish a two-way dialog early on because communication is key to patient satisfaction.
One of our 10 licensed hygienists will begin the exam by doing a periodontal evaluation for gum disease. This includes a careful periodontal probing, which is a manual check for gum disease. Our competent hygienists also perform thorough dental cleanings.
Using the low-dose digital X-rays, and a close visual exam, our dentist will analyze the condition of your teeth and see if there is any damage currently being done by your bite. He will also do a visual check to see if you have any oral abnormalities, like cancer.
We want you to have an attractive, healthy smile no matter how your teeth look when you walk into Maitre and Crabtree Dental Group. That’s why our dentist will give you a smile evaluation and discuss exactly what you’d like to change about your smile. This includes missing or crooked teeth, broken or chipped teeth, discoloration and other dental imperfections.
Most people don’t even know if they’re at risk for a dental problem – or if they’re already suffering from one. That’s because most dental problems aren’t usually painful. Since not all dental problems come with warning signs, the best way to prevent a dental problem is to visit the dentist at least once every six months for a checkup.
Regular visits enable us to find early signs of damage or disease. Small problems can be treated at a manageable stage – and not allowed to grow into big, costly problems.
